Encorate Oral Solution IP 200mL is Sodium Valproate Oral Solution IP. Each 5mL contains Sodium Valproate IP 200mg in a flavoured syrup base with Colour Ponceau 4R. It is an antiepileptic and mood stabilizing medicine. HOW IT WORKS: It controls seizures or fits by decreasing abnormal and excessive activity of nerve cells in brain. It increases amount of chemical GABA which blocks abnormal nerve cell activity. USES: Epilepsy, various types of seizures, bipolar disorder, mania, migraine prevention. SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, vomiting, weight gain, hair loss, tremor, headache. PRECAUTIONS: Schedule H drug - To be taken only on prescription of Registered Medical Practitioner. Avoid alcohol.
